Mission Notes December 2007

Thankyou for your very generous support of the “Poponetta Appeal” on Sunday the 25th of November.  The following day our Parish Treasurer Max Hine sent to A.B.M. a cheque for $500:00, a wonderful response

The need in P.N.G. is urgent, especially in the Province of  Oro and its capital Popondetta.where three quarters of the population men, women and children are affected. The villages along the coast from Kewnsasap to Manau were almost submerged by rising seas and expanding river deltas, the result of category-1 tropical Cyclone Guba striking in late November.

Friday the 30th November was St. Andrews Day, the traditional day when the Church is asked to pray for Mission. At the request of A.B.M. a group of Parishioners led by ArchDeacon Ray Elliot, met for prayer for the work and ministry of the Church
